Hi, I'm Taylor Ackerman, founder and lead engineer at Ackerman Design & Engineering. I started this business with a passion for solving real-world mechanical problems through precision design, hands-on fabrication, and dependable engineering. With years of experience in the industry and a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering from the State of Nebraska, I bring a dual perspective to every project - combining technical expertise with shop-floor practicality. 

I'm also an AWS Certified Welder, skilled in MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux Core welding, including mobile services. Whether I'm designing a custom machine, fabricating a component, or working through a unique challenge, my goal is always the same: deliver work that's strong, smart and built to last. 

I started this business in 2017 out of my parents' garage in Lincoln, Nebraska with a couple machines, a few tools, and a drive to build things the right way. What began as late nights and weekend projects quickly grew into a full-service machine and engineering shop - and a career I'm proud of every single day. 

Today, I run the business full-time out of Seward, Nebraska, where I live with my wife and our growing family. I take pride in what I build, and I stand behind every weld, cut, and drawing. I believe in honest communication, high standards, and treating every project - big or small - like it matters.
